Oh, I have seen some doozies in aggravations on a 10M. One in particular sticks in my mind--a friend of mine was "prescribed" sulphur 10M by a homeopath who used to prescribe on this BB--and aggravated with a massive, emergency room asthma attack...the first one he ever had in his life, at the age of 37.

The thing is, some remedies are just so energetic--like sulphur--that to give a very high potency means it will work quite aggressively in some people. a 10M sulphur is a very different energy, to me, from a 10M gelsemium, for example. If the remedy isn't carefully considered with each individual, as well as the potency, you'll get massive aggravations. It took my friend several weeks to get over the effects of that one dose. It's the event on this BB that made me quite vocally opposed to that prescription slinging homeopath, and the practice of prescribing sight unseen.

Shirl, I don't know if you'll admit to this, but I see quite a bit of a tendency in your case for you to self-medicate. You need to find an MD who will consider that your thryoid symptoms have changed--and order a test for you based on that symptomatic activity, which indicates that she must change her prescription; an MD should not refuse your request given this evidence, regardless of the timing of your last test. Then you can work in compliance with your homeopath, and enlist the services of your MD as your case progresses. You don't even have to tell your MD about homeopathy, if you think its an issue: you should be able to have your doctor do what is necessary to obtain data regarding your changed symptoms. Your doc doesn't have to know about homeopathy--she just has to adjust your meds to suit your requirements as they change. Her opinion on alternative meds never has to enter into any aspect of her services. It would be nice if she thought homeopathy were wonderful, and supported your decision to use it: but its not necessary for you to get the info and treatment and service you need from your MD.

If you are adjusting meds yourself, or interfering with some of the curative changes your body is making without knowing what is taking place, then you will not get well, and it won't be homeopathy's fault. Obviously you are able to restore some function to the thyroid, as you are experiencing--but what we don't know is whether or not your symptoms are a return of old symptoms, whether or not you have ever had them before, whether or not they are an aggravation you may be suffering from improperly adjusted doses of your allopathic meds.
