Hi Snoopy,

yes the feeling is similar to that of lacking confidence but has come on very strangely in a very confident and successful person. Its effect is wider. The person has more knowledge than most of his contemprories in his field (and he knows that), and yet he feels he knows nothing. He is professionaly very sucessful at a very young age, but has started feeling he is not doing well enough. He may need to change his work. And this has devloped without any apparent reason. And the person is still confident enough for me to use that rubric.
The person became sucessful by focussing on what he does not have (qualitatively) and working to get it. I think he has focussed on self-improvemnt a bit too much. Keeps looking on his negative side instead of the positive side. Always feels 'dwarfish' in presence of people of similar caliber.
I have not been able to put this all together in some word/rubric/symptom that can say it all. I will use fragmented rubrics if I cant find the one that fits perfectly. But still searching ...
