This is the case I posted about regarding the person with the fear of blood. I would like any input. I believe the case is strongly carc; however, I am also concerned about a syph miasm and so am wondering if a dose of syph would be best given before carc. I would appreciate any input from all of you.

This is a woman with an immense, almost debilitating fear of blood. The fear of blood affects her daily activities, going grocery shopping, out to eat, etc. She worries the grocer will have blood on his hands and infect the groceries, etc. She checks packages that come in the mail for any sign of blood and if there is any red spots she gets very anxious and upset. She prefers not to have strangers over, i.e. Workmen coming to fix something because she worries they will bleed on something. When asked what it is about the blood that she fears she says it is because of AIDS and hepatitis, but mostly AIDS. When asked if she has other fears she says she also fears cancer. When she was young her mother told her that cancer was their families disease – she had a few family members pass from cancer. She also has a fear of mad cow disease because she had been in an area of England at “the wrong time”. Her fear is definitely about having an incurable disease – she said to me that if she knew homeopathy could cure AIDS she wouldn’t be as scared.

Growing up her mother never babied or coddled her and would call her silly if she was fearful of things. She had to take on a large amount of responsibility as a young girl as her mother was ill much of the time with sarcodosis and also was suicidal at times (the mom). She remembers feeling immense guilt over not being able to help her mom. She herself had suicidal feelings at a young age but never acted on them.

When she was 9 she was molested by a neighbors relative and never told anyone about it for fear of her mom blaming her. She felt guilt over not telling because she believed her friend was probably being molested too.

There has been several (4 or 5) incidences of robbery in her life. Most were as a child where her home or mother’s home or grandmothers home was broken into. Later two instances happened when she was an adult.

At age 26 she was tested for MS but the tests proved negative. She also had a cyst removed from her breast that was thought to be cancerous but turned out benign.

She had a miscarriage last year at 12 weeks and this still causes a lot of grief. She has been unable to conceive since and blames her age. 39

She LOVES music, dancing (if alone), Loves thunderstorms and the ocean. She loves the untamed aspect of the storms and the ocean she said. She also LOVES to travel and at age 18 left her home for England where she lived for several years. She plans to travel to another country in a few months again. She also loves animals and right now her dog is dying of cancer and so lays with him at night on his padded bedding – instead of sleeping in her own bed. This has been the case for a few months now and sleeping on the floor is affecting her back.

She hates warm weather, prefers things cool. Always sleeps on her side (either). She has many moles and freckles on her body (both sides). She claims she is about 60 pounds overweight.

She hides her fears and anxiety from even her closest family members. Even in her support group she never says just what the anxiety is about for fear of being thought of a kook.

Being alone where she is in total control ameliorates her symptoms and being in company aggravates. She says she would like to go live in a log cabin with her cats and dogs, away from others. However, she comes of as friendly, kind, sensitive, sweet. She is not antisocial. Also, arguing with her husband aggravates her anxieties.
She desires sweets, butter, cakes, etc.

I am really leaning towards carc here but would love any input.
