I had a normal birth, my labor was 14 hours long total. I had to push for 4 hours as my son kept going "back in" so at the end I ended up agreeing to having a low dose of Pitocin. Pregnancy was normal, he was born 3 days late. Healthy at birth. Breastfed for 6 weeks and then refused to "latch on" so I ended up pumping breastmilk and gave it to him in a bottle till he was 9 months old. After that he was on Soy formula. from the start he has been an extremely alert baby, not wanting to sleep much. Even when he slept the slightest of sounds would wake him up and does now too (but better). Very active and talkative from early on. Started talking at 8 months - very clearly no baby talk. My 18 months he was forming comprhensible sentences likes to use difficult words and sentences even now. Interested in music and arts not much into jumping and climbing like most other boys. Friendly disposition but off late will clamp up and act like he can't talk when visitng doctors. Interacts with peers well except that he has definite notions about who his friends are and are not and will not share toys with those he says are not! Interacts well with his year old sister. No problems with jealousy there.
At 2.5 years of age I sent him to a montessori school which he loved from day one. I had to drag him crying out of the school at the end of school day. However, two weeks into school they performed a fire drill when he got so scared of the loud alarm that he never went back to the school again (this coincided with his first ever ear infection). before the fire drill incident he had another scare at school - the school had a police visit on a day. That day my son had trouble putting on shoes by himself (no wonder at 2.y years) the teacher left him behind and took the other kids to see the police car, by the time my son got to the police the timing coincided with the siren being turned on which scared him too. After these incidents he became scared of loud sounds - even clapping or people singin together. We had topull him out of his music class etc.. He too stopped clapping and does not clap even now - he will fold his fingers if we try to get him to clap. Another side effect has been bothering us: he has become extremely negative about himself - if we say "you did a good job" he will "I did not". Or is he does something nice e.g., painting etc.. he will mess it up before I (his mom) can see it. Also, he says opposite of most things we say e.g., on walks if my husband I look at some flowers and say "how pretty" he will say "no they are not pretty they are going to die".

Constitution wise, he is thin and tall. Thick hair, he has had all the recommended (by US govt) vaccines. Has not fallen ill much except for occasional colds although he has allergies in spring and fall which make his nose very stuffy at night making it hard for him to sleep. Three weeks back I took him to a homoeo practioner here, she asked me to give Natrium mur, Sulphur and Kali Bicarb at one hour intervals for the first two days and then at two hour intervals for two weeks. This helps his nose but after a week I started seeing blood in his mucus and his nose (right nostril) was bloody. So I stopped Sulphus and kali bicarb and gave natrium mur just before bed or in the middle of the night if his nose got stuffy - I did not go back to the homoeo practioner as I did not feel comfortable about the way she took the case history.

My son is now back in school and he loves it. So far the fire drill has not happened so I do not know how he will react. I have gotten him evaluated by an osteopath and a soft tissue massage therapist. The osteopath told me to get him to do "push the wall" excercise to loosen up his calf muscles but that's easier said than done on most days with a 3 year old. The massage therapist said that she felt some tightness in his cranial.

He is a healthy eater for most parts. Likes veggies and fruits and icecream. Not much into junk food and he has not been given any soda etc.. He loved milk (drank it like and in place of water) but for the last two weeks I have had to switch him to soy milk and soy yogurt because of his allergies. he loves to play outdoors in mud, sand, water and pebbles. He will roll and get himself all dirty at the first opportunity much to our worries about his allergies. he likes to cook, build with blocks and do anything that is "construction" related. He has no obvoius prefernce of sweets or otherwise.

Family history: I have carpal tunnel symptoms related to my work on the computers. With my daughter's pregnancy I was diabetic during the last trimester. My father is diabetic. My husband's family has a history of blood pressure.

If you need any more info I will gladly provide. At this time this is all I can think of.
