When you find a remedy that works great--like Staph. in this case--you have to repeat it right away when it wears off. Remedies wear off, it's common; you can't throw in the towel when they do, you have to repeat them immediately, preferably in water so that subsequent doses can be altered slightly by succussion, as the Organon says. Maybe Staph. will work again if you put it in water.
Secondly, if Merc. looked like a good possibility, don't count it out just because you weren't sweating. I've taken Puls. many times for indigestion and I wasn't crying or opening the windows.
Maybe it's too late for these 2 remedies, I don't
know, but, when I have an acute, I never give up; I keep trying til something works.
