I believe the doctors have already said there is nothing further they can do - surgery will be useless with this degree of liver damage anyway.

It is possible to help, although this is an extraordinarily serious situation. Prognosis is poor.

Joel, can you describe anything else to us about him - any other observations? Do you have access to remedies?

Dropsy from liver disease is covered by many remedies - we need some way to differentiate them. The main ones are Calc, Aur-m, Lach and Lyc. There are over 20 though. Card-m is certainly one of them, and I would strongly consider Phos due to the bleeding.
