Denise,
I will start him off with 1 dose and see how he does. I was suprised my son wasn't complaining myself. I ordered some Cal. spray. I was told to leave the steri strips over the stitches for a few days to help keep the wound closed, so I won't be able to apply any external remedies until the strips fall off on their own. I am changing the dressing daily to help keep it clean and dry. There is not much drainage from the wound so far.

There was some concern about stitching the wound closed as he really shredded the skin quite messily. The Treating ER Doc decided to try stitching rather than cut what was left of the skin away. If it doesn't heal properly, there is some concern he may need skin grafts as the skin was sheared so deeply and the wound is wide.

If he has any complications, I will likely take him to see my homeopath, as he is also an MD and can manage the case as well as arrange for any additional care he may need. Unfortunately, this Doctor doesn't take my particular health insurance, so I pay out of pocket for office visits, but so far I am pleased with his care and fortunate to have found a physician who also practices homeopathically. They are not easy to find! We only have a few in my state.

Thanks for your response.

Marisa
