pat, if space and finances permit, i would think an aga/ rayburn would be ok, particularly a refurbished old model. you could ask at one of their specialist shops if they contain alum.

otherwise, you can buy coal/woodburning stoves in cast iron that facilitate cooking in them, though the temp regulation must be a fine art in one of those.
