Thanks for responding Anna. The big problem with this virus is that it works very quickly especially on kittens. The allopathic community is under the impression that the vaccine has all but wiped out this disease but they are wrong. There is no difinitive testing for this virus (other than guessing from symptoms and low WBC count) and only necropsy can confirm it's existance; most cats or kittens die very suddenly and are quickly cremated. However we routinely perform postmortoms on our dead and can confirm a 10% infection rate. If we can treat homeopathically within the early stages that is when we will have sucesses, but once the animal has gone septic nothing we do seems to work. I'm almost afraid to prescribe for the remaining kitten because as of this morning she was improving (some vomit of small amounts but had a solid stool and is digesting small force feedings)and I hate to mess with her own body's reaction. But it could turn fatal within a few hours (as it did with her brothers). If anything I think I would be tempted to give a low dose of nat mur for her dehydration and its affect on the blood? The vomit and diarhea is hard to describe because it changes constantly, usually in a predictable way (septic way; intensity). Also perhaps try to boost her immune system herbally, if she keeps it down. Ultimately the diarhea (intestinal damage) needs to be stopped, correct me if I'm wrong, but that has got to be about a billion different remedies to sift through! Mentals are of little use to us, we don't usually know our patients well and as one poster likes to remind us, we must be very cautious about interpreting animal behaviors. I'm sorry I can't really come up with any concrete symptoms (her fever is not so often -but we can't keep a thermometer permantly up her rectum so we don't know for sure). Her stool was solid this morning. We are keeping her hydrated. Still intermittant vomitting. But all these symptoms might have already changed. I'm checking on her in about an hour. If you have any thoughts about it, we would appreciate it. Thanks
