Vithoulkas shows charts at the back of his 'Science of Homeopathy'. Some of the aggravations last an extended time. It's just these same patients who have the long lasting aggravations, that have extremely long lasting ameliorations. If I were in dire straits, I would call my homeopath and ask if there is something that can lesson the effect wwithout completely antidoting it. But for myself, I would rather put up with the aggravation and know that it will eventually turn around.

The mother of the person who introduced me to homeopathy was sick for the first six months of treatment before ameliorating. But she had been ill almost her whole life. That was over 30 years ago and she hasn't been sick, other than an occassional cold, since then. She's now a healthy and spry 86 year old.

Granted that the second dose should probably not have been given still that, too, will pass. If 3rings had said that each day is worse than the one before, I might be concerned (but then again, I might not be). But given that he/she says that each day is a tad better than the one before, I'd sit tight and wait. Many cures are ruined by lack of patience.
