Dear Katie,

Silicas are cold, as I said, and shy, and wouldn't be the life of the party, though I can certainly understand why you thought of it, and in a low potency--6X--when remedies tend to work even when they don't completely match, Silica may yet be a good choice if nothing else pans out.

OK, here's what I think, drum-roll please:

Lycopodium!

Lycopodium is perhaps our biggest remedy for stage fright/fear of public speaking--fear that the "audience" is finding fault, being judgemental, and so on. Lycopodiums have poor confidence in dealing with anyone who may have authority over them; however, the other side of the coin is, with peers--family/friends/ subordinates, they can actually be egotistical, powerful, bombastic, haughty and self-assured in general. And so, here you are, feeling very cowardly in front of those who sit in "judgement", and yet when a client comes to you with a problem, you feel very confident and very able to offer leadership. You are very proud of yourself and your abilities right up to the point of meeting with your superiors, and then your confidence just melts away.

To confirm Lycopodium, it is listed under perspiration of hands and feet, it's a warm remedy, it is listed under "night blindness", and the best confirmatory of all, in my opinion, is your description of the food desires--the carbohydrates that lycopodium loves--and the "canine hunger" and eating to excess.

So, that's about it. Here's how to take it.

Buy Lyc. 6C and a small bottle of Evian spring water (or any brand, for that matter) and pour half the bottle out (or drink it) and plop in a few pellets of Lyc. 6C. Shake it up, take a sip. For your NEXT dose, pound the bottle into your opposite palm 10 times to activate the remedy (this is called succussion). Take it 3 times a day. Keep in the refrigerator, label the bottle, add a little alcohol (not rubbing alcohol) if you're concerned about the bottle getting germy.

Three times a day is an average Rx, but everybody is different, so you have to adjust the frequency according to how quickly you're improving or not improving. If you start to feel strikingly better, take less often. If you feel worse, stop. Either way, let me know.

Hope I got it right!

Snoopy
