Hi Dr. Saboor,

Homeopathy is founded upon principles that are founded upon natural laws. The very principles a practitioner follows stabilizes him to make him sure in his work. This stability can be maintained equally well in chronic work, in acute cases or amidst the panics of epidemics of unknown origin, such as influenza. For here as in all other manifestations of illness the fundamental laws remain firm and intact, and they are sufficiently basic to provide a sure guide to health.

The generally accepted concept of homeopathy is that it is concerned chiefly with 'the law of similars.' Indeed, the encyclopaedia gives as the definition of homeopathy that it is a system of medicine bases upon 'the law of similars." While for a simplistic concentrated definition this might serve, yet there is much more to homeopathy than 'the law of similars,' for it would be very incomplete did it not embrace much more than this. It might better be defined as a system of medicine based upon all natural laws.

We need to get a more complete and comprehensive insight into the scope of these laws. There is a danger of making a fetish of the faith in homeopathy. Sometimes even without a knowledge of these laws we obtain wonder results, it is true. We often fail by not carrying out the teaching of Hahnemann to remove the cause of the disease where it is manifestly a mechanical trouble. Only following 'the law of similars' will not cure in such a case, the law to remove the cause of the disease is needed. More natural laws need to be considered. Again in the class of diseases where malnutrition results from lack of the proper foods and nutrients, instead of the lack of the powers of assimilation. Homeopathy cannot be expected to take the place of the proper elements in the diet. Another law. That proper nutrients must be supplied to attain optimum health.

We see then that homeopathy is more than the law of similars. It is basically a scientific method of healing which is based upon all natural laws and developed by inductive reasoning.

We must get Hahnemann's concept of the principles that enter into the study of Homeopathy. In Hahnemann's Organon of the Healing Art he gives us the following:
"In the healthy condition of man the spirit-like vital force, the dynamis that animates the material body, rules with unbounded sway and retains all the parts of the organism in admirable harmonious vital operation as regard both sensations and functions, so that our indwelling reason gifted mind can freely employ this living healthy instrument for the higher purposes of our existence."

We recognize life in three parts, the body, the mind, and the spirit. These forces react in sympathy and are interdependent. This is a natural law. The law of physical energy, the law of dynamic energy and the law of spiritual energy. We must recognise the law of growth too. When the energy functions improperly there is a greater growth on one plan than on another and the personality is not symmetrical in its development. Any disturbance of this law of vital energy or force results in a disfigured or disturbed development of the whole human economy. Yes there are many laws involved that must be considered in the study of homeopathy.
