Dear Dr Shahzad,

I don't know if this will help or not. But it may be of some use...

When I was pregnant with my 1st child - my kidney started to fail (I have one functioning kidney - the other has less than 1% function). The creatine was awful (can't recall the numbers - it's been over 10years) - and my output was decreasing daily (it got down to less than 200 ml per day) and there was protein in my urine....

I was told by, my then, nephrologist, that if things didn't resolve in a matter of days I would have to go on dialysis (which was scheduled for early the following week should I need it). ( I was 16 weeks pregnant - and lost one baby during this episode with my kidney. It was then suggested by other doctors that I abort my daughter, which I refused.).

Basically, my grandmother sent (via a courier service) a Juicer (not a cheap one - but a good quality Juicer!). She told me to juice daily:
one apple, 3-5 medium-ish sized carrots and a couple of stalks of celery. I had to clean them to make sure there were no chemicals or wax on the apples, etc.

I drank 16 ounces (American Pint) every morning, lunch and supper time. I drank water as well - but did not increase the water (as I recall I drank 6-8 8oz/240ml glasses of water per day).

Within two days my output was back up to about 700 mls - and then after another couple of days it was 1500 mls...and stablised at a normal rate, normal colour - no infection, sediment, protein etc - it was clean.

The swelling went down; the High Blood Pressure which accompanied the kidney problem went back to 100/70 (it had gone up to about 125/90 to 100) - and I generally felt much better. There were other symptoms but I can't recall every thing now. I just remember I was basically fine after that - and continued to juice throughout my pregnancy - only once per day once the crisis was over. (my doctors were amazed and I was relieved)

Interestingly my nephrologist, who was a very nice man with integrity, actually listened to what I did - and he took note of how well it resolved my crisis. Whereas most don't give any credence to anything other then their dictate protocol he is different from most docs (lucky me back then).

Of course, I was told not to have anymore children. I did - one more 5 years later - and my kidney was fine during my second pregancy (I juiced again).

Obviously if your patient could lose some weight - it would help matters. But I would suggest you try juicing for this patient while you are seeking help with finding the correct homeopathic remedy. (the symptoms in your first post were very similar to the sx I have when my kidney played havoc!).

Also - please advise him/her of the normal dietary restrictions/cautions.

Best wishes and I hope you will find some resolve for him/her.

Lisa

PS the remedy (I only found homeopathy years later) that has been most effective with me is Berberis when I've had an acute attack of low-output, pains in lower back that radiate to the front, comes on if the hypochondria area gets a chill and this remedy has worked within seconds for me on about 3 occasions (last summer and once in the Autumn). I am being treated for this chronic condition by my homeopath and have not had another episode since last Autumn. The constitutional remedy I was on back then was Puls (which has now changed to another remedy which I don't know yet) but the intercurrent for my acute was the Berb (only had to take a 30c - never needed higher interestingly enough).

I think if you just proceed as you would with any case - and just observe carefully - you should be able to work out the pattern of symptoms...best of luck to you.
