I was very worried about diarhea on stage and had a very eager performer here begging me to let her perform so I panicked, both in giving her the one dose of antibiotic on Friday (because of her very high fever and the fact her best friend had strep throat) and then again in giving her the arsenica album without clear dosage instructions because the pharmacy was out of China.
The Arsenica did not relieve the diarhea fast enough. We gave her a cherry flavored Kaopectate which did the job just in time for her to do her show.
She was very pleased, having worked 4 and 1/2 months on the part to get to perform it but she is exhausted now and was chilled throughout the play just as Dr.Leela suggested she would be. Her temperature is up to 102 again.
I think this is an example of bad parental thinking on my part. I should have stuck to a slow and proper treatment regardless of her time schedule. And, as in all things, I should have remembered less is more.
From now on I will be more slow and thoughtful about these situations. Thank you all for your replies and good wishes.
