Elimination is where you choose one to three symptoms from the case *that you can rely on* and choose only a remedy found in the rubrics that match.

It is important that whatever symptoms you choose must be reliable - little interpretation on the part of the practitioner. For instance, if a patient must have lots of fans blowing, all the time, even when they are sleeping, you can Eliminate any remedies not found in the Rubric "Desires to be fanned". If a patient craves lots of cold water, DON'T use a rubric like "worse for heat" or "Ailments from being overheated" to eliminate, as this is merely an interpretation of the facts.

This helps to cut down on the work involved in repetorising a case. It is also helpful to eliminate using rubrics that have no more than 20 remdies in them. I prefer to use rubrics with much less - this helps narrow your choices more quickly.

Once you have eliminated down to a small group of remedies, you can then continue to repetorise using any other symptoms that have caught your intention, including any interpretations on your part, or any theories (plant groups, animal remedies, Scholten themes etc).
