Speaking of alcohol, I once read an account by an old hunter who claimed that he had been cured of malaria by staying permenently drunk on native beer for several days. Does anyone presume that high levels of blood alcohol could kill plasmodiums? More likely he should have thanked his own immune system. Still, I've often wondered about it...
