Thanks for the answer Ben. I'm astounded. I can't think why I've never heard of this treatment before! We're supposed to have some good malaria people around here... I'll investigate further.

To answer Bala's question: No. I couldn't get hold of the right medication in time. It was a three hour journey between my home and the hospital, and a four hour drive to the nearest big city! (This is Africa!)

Also, she could take NOTHING whatsoever! Not even water. Believe me, I tried my level best! Only drugs that were administered were quinine and antibiotics -- intravenously.

If I may say so, I now hear that just about half the world had been praying for her too. That is no homeopathic remedy, but maybe that's what worked (!?) I've never been a quinine fan, though, but that seems to be all our local doctors' best answer... She's now taking homeopathic medicine to help get over it all. It must be working well, cause she's making an amazingly quick recovery.
