Thanks for the advice so far! Her condition has made a very dramatic change about six hours ago. All simptoms seem to be reversing slowly. Malarial count is now zero. This has been a most puzzling case right from the beginning and seemingly very much unlike the usual. Doctors assume a particularly virulent strain of P. falceparum. No skin discolouration (except for that caused by malarially induced jaundice) and no blood. Vomit initially only foam, later green bile and still later on only clear liquid. Very little headache. Had shivers, but not particularly badly. At present: oxygen levels in blood at a new 97%;clotting of cappilaries in lungs -- better; clotting by dead red blood cells in liver -- better. Bacterial count -- better. She still has trouble swallowing anything -- even water, due to nausea. She now seems to be tolerating quinine much better than ever before. Most puzzling. Will keep posted. Thanks again.
