Dear Members; 21 august, 1999
I am pleased to see that this most important topic is being discussed. I assume the discussion started with Anet's unclear question on august 19th. True the toxins are much more active after a fracture or dental surgery, but they are there all the time if you have amalgam in your body; you just don't recognize them as such!
I see that routinism is alive and well as I read the responses from Kescah and Davis. This can be excused in beginners and non-professionals but must be looked at as something other than homeopathy by professionals with training and experience.
One of the problems is that this is such a huge problem and one that causes a great deal of suffering and frustration. I state categorically that it takes YEARS to remove amalgam toxins from the body and brain (incidently, a favorite deposition site for this vile combination of metals!)and anything other than careful professional prescribing and case maintenance over the long-haul just won't cut it in my oppinion.
In manner of general comments to some of the statements from the past couple of days, I'd like to say that there is no substitute for taking the case and giving the remedy that is indicated. There is no such thing as the best remedy in......type of cases. If you do not give the "similimum", which means the individualized remedy that the case calls for through its unique and characteristic display of symptoms, then you are SUPPRESSING the case and it is better to relie on natural allopathic remedies such as vitamin C therapy as Asterias mentionedas well as others tahn to do this. Supppression makes the disease go deeper into the individual and renders them sicker. There are many adjuntive therapies that help in these cases but there is not room enough in this forum to go into them now. And on using Merc. sol., well that is extremely suppressive and I might add, increaasing the level of mercury poisoning! Mercury poisoning can occur from BOTH material and non-material preparations! It may SEEM that the case is improving, but in fact, you are suppressing the case.
Kescah is correct, there are other metals in "silver" fillings including: mercury, silver, tin, nickel and others, some very high up on the periodic table! The solution is not in theorizing, but in individualization. Bear in mind that the metal poisons are present, but the individual constitutional symptoms are far more important in choosing the remedy than deciding what may be causing them! Careful removal of the poisoning sources is a must, and should be done under the supervision of a pofessional with considerable experience in these types of cases. If the toxin levels in the bloodstream go too high you risk accute inflammations and septic states and even death. This is nothing to be fooled aroundd with and I strongly advise aaginst non-professionals trying to set up their own dental amalgam detoxification program!
Remember, symptoms are the language of the vital force and if you intend to use the tremendous power of homeopathy to help someone heal themselves, then you must be able to speak this language--no, to UNDERSTAND it! Symtoms are that language.
Thank you.
