Thank you both. The Mom is breastfeeding. Her pregnacy was a happy occassion and she has a loving husband. However, she has a lot of trauma in her personal background which causes her to cry over little things like movies. She has a fear of needles, which were used on her during labor, and she felt panicy due to being surrounded by doctors and nurses during labor and delivery. Her water broke two weeks early and they induced labor with Pitocin IV- although she did not begin to dilate for 2 days afterward, and then she dilated from 2 to 10 in two hours and gave birth. During that time she was given an antibiotic and a spinal. She does not know the names of the drugs. She had a mean nurse who used bad technique (such as elevating her catheter bag to get it out of the way, which the Mom knew was wrong. Mom told her to lower it and she would not,) and seemingly enjoyed terrorizing Mom with the needle for the IV. Even changed hands after getting it into the first hand. The nurse spoke sarcasticly to the mother and told her to shut up. However, the birth went well after 48 hours of no labor in the hospital. There were no forceps used. No over extensive force. Two weeks early. The jaundice level has been 17 for two days (baby was born Sunday morning) and the jaundice covers the body. The stool is yellow and watery. The baby had some colic which has responded well to Chamomilla 30c. He now has a good appetite and sleeps well days. He looks healthy other than jaundiced, but the mother is constantly saying that she is afraid he will die. His mood seems good, he looks around when awake.
Thanks for your attention to this,
Kescah
