Hi All,
I have a 15 yr old cat with what appears to be a failing liver. She has lost a lot of
weight in the last 2 weeks. She is dehydrated and jaundiced. She had brown discharge from eyes 10 days ago which has dried up. She had no appeitite over the weekend but would drink water brought to her in a cup. She also started sleeping in confined spaces such as room corners and under my desk. Her fur is
falling out and matting.
She is now at the vets on the IV. He x-rayed her today to see if there were any masses or growths but didn't find any. He is going to run blood tests. He said her chances are slim at this point. Her temp was low this morning 98F.
She was herself 3 weeks ago, fiesty as ever. We were talking about how she didn't look 15. The only thing out of the ordinary was she developed a wart on her face 4 months ago and 2 months ago we got a puppy which put her out of sortsfor a bit but she was adjusting and ignoring it after the first or second week.
I will probably bring her home for the night. My vet doesn't have 24 hr coverage and my only other option is the 24hr emergency clinic for the night. He doesn't want to leave her unattended on the IV. I don't want to put her through the trauma of being transported to another strange place. I know there may not be any hope to save her but is there anything I can do with homeopathy to help her be more comfortable if I can't save her. Please help if you can. I've never treated animals and I am far to emtionally involved in this one to be objective. Thanks,
SAM
Sorry I posted this in 2 places but I'm deperate.
