I asked this same question several years ago and received a case study and repertory and proving info from two different people. I've copied it below. It's quite long.

Bambusa

VI. Case studies with Bambusa

Case 1

The female patient born in 1952 first came to me for treatment in 1984. Her main complaint were headaches which she had had for ten years (since menarche) but they had greatly worsened in the last two years. The pains are one-sided on the right or left, settle over the eyes and come as much as three times a week. A cold face-cloth provides relief.
Since about 1970 she has suffered from backache, especially in the lumbar spine. These pains come particularly when standing, on exertion and bending down for a long time. Severe worsening of the headaches in the second half of her cycle, roughly from the 10th day before the start of menses.
Sharp stitching in the forehead, worse for any movement.

Feels "as if her head is going to burst" when bending down and as if "her eyes are bulging out of her head".
Symptoms with the stomach, any trouble affects her stomach.
Overactive thyroid.
Very sensitive to the weather, any approach of cold weather aggravates her
symptoms. Vertigo and headache when the weather changes.
Lots of myogelosis in the back, totally seized up.
Two pregnancies with natural childbirth, two girls.
Prescription: Bryonia C 12, once a day.
Progress: Better within 14 days.
Stomach is better as well. Problems with the intervertebral disks, especially L 4/5.
Continues with tensing of the back.

Re-attended: Autumn 1986 with sleep problems. Cannot sleep when she is planning to do something.
She has pains in the right leg, better for movement. Lifted something too
heavy. This is a painful dragging from the lumbar spine into the lower abdomen, then out to the thigh.
She sweated yesterday and might be getting a cold.
Stitching pains in the left shoulder, worse at the start of movement. The pains come and go suddenly.
Wakes up at night with stitching pains in the back. Stiff in the morning. Crushed feeling in the back.
Fell into a silo as a child.
Prescription: Rhus toxicodendron LM 18.
Progress: Slow improvement.
Pains continue due to degenerative disks in the lumbar spine.

Re-attended: February 1987
Patient came into hospital in early 1987 because of lumbago together with pains radiating into the left arm. Exercise ECG shows "heart racing" (palpitations) and a fall in blood pressure.
Cysts on the left ovary.
Nausea from the stomach. Has to vomit, which helps.
Stitch around the heart, especially after eating. Feeling "like a hot stone
in the stomach". Cannot double up because it causes pains.
More headaches recently, sharp stitching, usually one-sided on the right.
Prescription: Bryonia LM 6.
Progress: Better. Nausea gone, heart stitches gone, no lumbago, no dragging into the left arm, no palpitations.

Re-attended: 8 January 1990
Very nervous and restless, gastritis, pancreatitis.
Heart pains after eating.
Often back problems and pains. Clearly better for movement, worse at the start of movement. Back totally seized up again.
Utterly shattered.
Prescription: Rhus toxicodendron C 200.
Progress: Headaches initially, but back is better. Not as shattered.

Re-attended: 15 January 1990
Came again because of severe headaches, radiating upwards from the neck, which started three days before her period. Yesterday the pain was on the left, today on the right. Lay in a hot bath-tub which helped. Feeling of pincers in her neck which clamp everything (as in 1995!). Feels as if "everything is congested" in the neck. Lays a hot-water bottle
on the back of her neck. Wrapped herself up in blankets. Absolutely frozen with headaches.
Likes being in the sunshine.
Prescription: Silicea C 30.
Progress: Improvement within two hours.
Over the next few days everything is worse, her whole back hurts. Pains extend into the knee. Whole back badly seized up. Any movement aggravates. Can only lie without moving.
Prescription: Bryonia C 30.
Progress: Everything better again. No headache despite rainy and stormy weather.

Re-attended: 12 May 1995 (video)
Came because of tennis elbow, right epicondylitis, although she does not play tennis.
Examination shows no classic signs of inflammation. Has had the pains for two months.
Headaches again premenstrually and when the weather changes, much worse before her period. The pains come from the nape of the neck, with the feeling of "someone putting shackles on and cutting off the circulation". A feeling as if nothing is coming through to the front, into the face. Feeling of painful tightness and constriction in the neck. When it is really bad, the headache extends into the top teeth. Hammering pain with a feeling of the eyes protruding 20 cm out of the head.
Extreme premenstrual tension in the breasts, especially the left, for which she had already been to the gynaecologist. Pains were so bad that she thought she had lumps in her breast. Pains especially under the arms. These complaints were connected with the death of her father-in-law, so the doctor thought that stress might be the cause. The mammogram shows a "glandular hardening" which later receded by itself. Menses every 28 days, regular. On the second day of the period "terrible abdominal pains". Then lies in bed with a hot-water bottle. Severe uterine cramps "as if things are not passing through properly".
In the meantime no pains in the lumbar spine but painful prolapsed disk in the cervical spine between the 5th and 6th vertebrae. Pains in the right shoulder, radiating into the elbow, especially when raising or bending the arm. When she does housework, severe pains in the epicondyle. Sudden, stitching pain like being stabbed with a knife.
The pre-existing gastric complaints have disappeared.
She is calmer than she was.
Stiffness in the neck when bending the head forwards.
Otherwise very "stubborn" when she gets something into her head. She gets through any work "regardless of how hard it is". Ambitious, does not "let herself go". Takes on too much.

It "depends very much on me. My husband is never there, my parents have now moved here, they are always wanting something. And I have to do a lot of jobs physically which women don't usually do. They all come to me when they want something but no-one ever asks if they can help me. Sometimes it's too much for me. It bothers me for the future - if I get ill, no-one will be there for me. They just load everything onto me, I am always on the go. If I ever have any problems and go to my mother, she just says but you're fine!
I always have to find a way of coping on my own."

Does not like travelling because she gets homesick straight away. Very rooted and home-loving. Loves everything she has built up herself.
Feels well-balanced, unlike previously.
"I always go on ahead and drag the whole family behind me, even my husband. I have always been everyone's cart-horse." (Perhaps the cart-horse has broken its back?)

Prescription: Bambusa Q 6, Dil. 1 (Enzian-Apotheke, Munich). Dil. 1 = one drop of Bamboo Q6 in 100 cc water, one teaspoon. See Appendix.
Progress: (video) In the first three months after prescribing, no pains with her period. No tension of the breasts, no pains on the 2nd day, she was able to work as usual.
The pains in the shoulder are relieved, in the epicondyle pains after heavy work, mild pains, occasional, not dramatic. Overall a more relaxed and couldn't-care-less mood, can even leave things undone. For weeks has been laying kerbstones on her own in 30 degrees heat and has repainted a 60-metre fence on her own. No problems with her back.
Has never felt so well. There is no stopping her. Feels really harmonious, other people even notice. No headaches at all, not even with the extreme heat or exertion.

Comments

This was possibly a Bamboo case from the outset. If I had known about the symptoms of Bamboo 11 years ago, the patient would presumably have been spared some pains.
She rates Bamboo herself as the best remedy so far. In her case there were no side-effects. Carrying on with the Q 6, every two days, until the bottle is empty or there
is any late aggravation.

Re-attended: 1 March 1996
No symptoms have occurred. The back is fine, the premenstrual syndrome is still much improved. The patient feels well. Bamboo was stopped after finishing the Q 6.

This case clearly illustrates the prescribing approach found to date:

1. Spinal symptoms (even with prolapsed disk), especially in the cervical spine. Headaches radiating from the neck to the head. Stubbornness.
2. Symptoms with menstruation and premenstrual syndrome (PMS), involving tension of the breasts and uterine cramping pains. Both symptoms suggest a (pituitary?) regulatory disturbance in the interaction between oestrogen and progestogen.
3. Psychogenic symptoms: the call for help, not quite admitted but nevertheless clearly present. The feeling of being overworked and overloaded, or actually being overworked, seeks support.
4. The strong desire for warmth, the back being ameliorated by heat, especially the desire for warm baths.
5. The "stitching" quality of the pain, especially short, sudden stitches at small sites are typical of Bamboo.
