Dear Jayakumar,

I must disagree with you on one point, Homoeopathy is unfortunately quite capable of suppressing illness, and causing very serious problems to appear. The Law of Similars can be used in a superficial way to suppress the common symptoms eg using Allium-cepa on all hayfever. Suppression by poorly trained homoeopaths, especially pathological prescribers, cause quite alot of problems.

Suppression can happen whenever the symptoms are addressed without looking for the cause. I have often seen colds suppressed with Aconite, becoming croup or bronchitis. I have seen eczema suppressed with Sulphur, becoming chronic diarrhoea, headaches suppressed with Bothrops becoming chronic psoriasis.

If the symptoms common to the disease are prescribed on , rather than the unusual symptoms or those unique to the patient , then suppression is EASY with homoeopathy. Way too easy.
