My Mother in Law has Alzheimers and was diagnosed about 2 years ago. She was put on Arisept an allopathic medicine which keep some parts of the brain functioning. I have found it very difficukt to treat her homeopathically because she can't be specific about her symptoms. Every thing is vague. but knowing about her life long constipationetc I have dosed her with an Alumina 200 every so often , when she says that she thinks she has "not been too well this week" and I have found it has perked her up. In the 2 years I don't feel that the disease has progressed very fast. She still lives on her own , cooks and looks after herself. She is forgetful and the problem is does not realise it. She is a remarkable woman having been totally deaf from the age of 8 when she had meningitis.

How old is your Dad? If you look at the American sites on this disease they are recommending very high doses of Vitamin E and the herb Gingko Bilboa.

If your Dad is willing then take him to a local homeopath. The problem with my Mother in Law is that it is only in the last 6 months that she has admitted that there is sonething wrong with her although as the nature of the disease she is not aware of it. She was complaining last week that she was sleeping too much which she has never done before so I gave her another Alumina but haven't seen her this week yet to establish if there has been any change.I told her it was her age. She is 78.
