Dear Friends,

Thanks for the replies. I apologize for not describing my symptoms in more detail.

The pain is generally localized in the front of my right heel. I say generally because sometimes the pain spreads, especially after I have been on my feet a lot. I have had this condition for nearly a year.

The pain is usually fairly sharp. It is worse when I take the first step after sitting or lying for a while. The pain is alleviated when I stretch my feet some before I take my first step.

The pain is worse when walking barefoot on a hard surface. The pain is much easier when I walk on carpeting or on well padded shoes.

The pain is also worse when I am on my feet a lot -- hiking or dancing or even walking around town for more than an hour.

As I said before, I have taken rhus tox, arnica and ruta early on. None seemed to have any effect. I remember that arnica spray alleviated the pain a bit in the first days, then had no effect afterward.

I have tried both soaking my feet in hot water and applying ice. Soaking has sometimes provided some temporary relief.

I have tried various kinds of bodywork - rolfing, massage and accupressure. Each has provided some temporary relief.

I have also tried many kinds of energy work (I am an energetic healer myself). Again these have provided some temporary relief (better than just about anything else), but the pain still returns.

None of my materia medicas say anything about hecla lava and its use with this sort of pain. But then again, my materia medicas are rather old. So, if anyone can direct me to an online source of info on this remedy, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Bob
