My apologies for not reading your first post properly when you said the head was not engaged. Got it into my head dealing with a malpresentation somehow.
Least intervention possible with remedies or otherwise is always the aim.
Labour should only be induced where the saftey of the mother and baby is at risk. Ananda Zaren gives the following reasons to induce:
a post-due large babies
b hypertension in mother (saftey)
c psychological problems in mother (holding back process)
d long prodormal first stage (saftey)
e ruptured waters before cervix is ripe (saftey)
As regards time:
"At 41 weeks there is concern regarding the healthy functioning of the placenta, the organ responsible for nourishing the baby in utero" Betty Idarius. An Non-stress test or biophysical profile can be conducted weekly after 41st week.
Caul, cimic, gels, kali-c, nat-m, op, puls, sec, bell, cham, nux-v, sep, stann and sabina all listed by Zaren as remedies for initiating labour. There are no posted symptoms on which to differentiate.
Idarius uses the following protocol:
"Caulophyllum 30c or 200c alternating with cimicifuga 30c or 200c every 2 hours for 6 total doses in 24 hours. No remedy the next day. Repeat the same protocol on day three if needed.
This protocol is very powerful, but will only work if the pregnant woman's body and the baby are ready for birth. Otherwise, it will help tone her uterus and prepare her for the upcoming birth. No harm done!"
She lists other measures but hopefully shouldn't come to that!
